In keeping with its seafaring traditions, the house is furnished and decorated with pieces that may well have been brought back to Salt Cay, by a well traveled 19th C. sea captain. While the antiques, and historic tropical decorations, set the tone for a Caribbean plantation house, the house abounds with comfortable sofas and chairs. The house is relaxed and leisurely, with many seating and lounging areas, both indoors and out.
The main floor of the Historic Half Way House with beamed wood ceilings, ship knee beam supports, and multiple shuttered exterior doors, houses the kitchen, dining and television viewing area, and 1/2 bath. The kitchen is adjacent to the ocean, beside the front deck with a large grill, and covered dining and relaxation areas.
